Max The Woodie is run by Max Hayhurst, a woodworker based between London and the New Forest. Max makes a range of high-quality unique wood & epoxy resin products, including bespoke designs, with sustainably sourced wood.

About Max
Born and raised in London, I first forayed into woodworking after moving to the New Forest in 2020. First teaching myself how to use a chop saw, my first project was a simple jewellery box. From there, my passion and skills developed into sourcing the best materials, incorporating resin into my designs, and expanding my projects to include tables, coasters, and signage.
Epoxy Resin Creations
After completing the Blacktail Studio’s Epoxy Table Workshop, I now include epoxy resin in my creations, from coasters to tables, with each product being totally unique.
Eco-pledge
Whilst working with wood is a sustainable method, I have also experienced first-hand the effects of deforestation. My business policy includes a percentage of each sale going towards my re-wilding project in the New Forest.

I’m regularly found most weekends at artisanal markets across the UK, selling my products and taking on bespoke orders.
My passion for working with my hands and natural materials comes from my exploration days where I worked and travelled around Australia, tinkering with cars, maintaining island campsites and working in the agricultural sector.
As part of my policy to run a sustainable business, a portion of my sales go towards planting trees to offset my business’ consumption of wood.
